OET Writing Lab (medwritinglab.com) is an independent practice platform for healthcare professionals preparing for the Occupational English Test (OET). We are not affiliated with Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment.

2. What data we collect

• Account information: your name and email address, collected when you sign up via Clerk.
• Practice letters: the letters you write and submit for AI feedback are stored so you can return to them later.
• Usage data: number of analyses used, subscription status.
• Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe — we never store your card details.

3. How we use your data

• To provide AI feedback on your OET practice letters.
• To manage your account and subscription.
• To enforce usage limits (free vs. paid plans).
• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use your letters to train AI models.

4. Third-party services

• Clerk — authentication and user management. clerk.com/privacy

• Anthropic Claude API — AI feedback generation. Your letters are sent to Anthropic's API to generate feedback and are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data and practice letters for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing medwritinglab@gmail.com.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at medwritinglab@gmail.com.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the site.
